Acceptance and eligibility

By accessing or using HourSimple, you agree to these Terms of Use and the Privacy and Cookie Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the site. You must be legally capable of agreeing to these terms in your jurisdiction.

Calculator estimates only

HourSimple performs mathematical operations on the values and options entered. All time, pay, overtime, date, holiday, conversion, and other results are estimates. They may be affected by input errors, rounding, browser behaviour, workplace policies, contracts, payroll practices, supplier specifications, and legal or technical rules the calculators do not model.

The calculators and content are not engineering, architectural, legal, financial, tax, accounting, payroll, employment, human-resources, safety, or building/code-compliance advice. They do not determine legal entitlements, official compensation, code compliance, or suitability for a particular project or use.

Verify before acting

You are responsible for checking inputs, assumptions, units, results, and applicable requirements. Before relying on a result for payroll, purchasing, construction, compliance, scheduling, legal rights, or financial decisions, verify it against source records and with an appropriately qualified professional, employer, payroll administrator, authority, or supplier.

No warranty

To the fullest extent permitted by law, HourSimple and all content, calculators, results, links, and services are provided “as is” and “as available.” No express, implied, statutory, or other warranty is made, including any warranty of accuracy, completeness, reliability, availability, merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, title, non-infringement, or that errors will be corrected.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, HourSimple's operator, owners, affiliates, service providers, licensors, and suppliers will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages; loss of profits, revenue, data, goodwill, opportunities, or business; or decisions, payments, purchases, penalties, claims, or losses arising from use of or inability to use the site, reliance on a result, or third-party content or services.

Where liability cannot be excluded, total aggregate liability arising from the site will be limited to the greater of the amount you paid directly to HourSimple for the relevant service during the preceding 12 months or CAD $100. Some jurisdictions do not allow certain exclusions or limits, so portions of this section may not apply.

Advertising, affiliate links, and third parties

HourSimple may display advertising or use affiliate links. The operator may receive compensation when a visitor views, clicks, or completes a transaction through an advertisement or affiliate link. Advertising, affiliate, analytics, hosting, and email providers operate under their own terms and privacy practices. A link or advertisement is not an endorsement or guarantee of a third party, product, price, availability, or claim.

Quote requests and provider contact

HourSimple does not currently offer a quote-request or lead-capture form and does not transmit quote details to third-party service providers. If that changes, the collection flow, consent notice, these terms, and the privacy policy must be updated before launch.

Acceptable use and intellectual property

You may use the site for lawful personal or business calculations. You may not disrupt the site, bypass security or consent controls, introduce malicious code, scrape at a rate that impairs service, misrepresent HourSimple content as professional advice, or use the site in violation of law or another person's rights.

The site design, branding, original copy, software, and other protected materials belong to the operator or its licensors. These terms do not transfer intellectual-property rights. Ordinary links to public pages are permitted, and calculator embeds are governed by the instructions shown on the embed page.

Privacy, suspension, and changes

Use of the site is also governed by the Privacy and Cookie Policy. HourSimple may modify, suspend, or discontinue features and may restrict use that threatens security, availability, or lawful operation. Updated terms will be posted here with the centrally managed effective and last-updated dates. Continued use after an update takes effect constitutes acceptance where permitted by law.

Governing law and disputes

Applicable law may give you rights that cannot be limited by these terms. If a concern arises, please contact HourSimple first so it can be reviewed. Any dispute remains subject to the mandatory laws and procedures that apply to the parties and circumstances.

Severability and contact

If a provision is found unenforceable, it will be limited or removed only to the minimum extent necessary, and the remaining provisions will continue. Failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver. Questions about these terms may be submitted through the contact page.
